Man Falls in Wisma Atria Shopping Centre

SINGAPORE — A man fell several storeys inside Wisma Atria mall this evening at around 9.50pm (Dec 10), according to eye-witnesses.

Police confirmed that the incident had occurred and that investigations were ongoing.

An eye-witness, who declined to be named, told TODAY that she was at the Omakase Burger outlet on the first floor of the mall when she saw something fall. Initially she had thought that a Christmas decoration had fallen down, she said.

The mall was not very crowded at the time of the incident as most shops were closing, said the eye-witness.

Another eye-witness Channel NewsAsia spoke with said that he had heard a loud thud, before he saw a "Chinese man in his late 30s lying face down in a pool of blood".

Channel NewsAsia's eye-witness, who also declined to be named and reportedly works as a medic at a private ambulance company, said that he, his girlfriend and three other off-duty officers tried to resuscitate the man before the police and paramedics arrived at the scene.

"When we first came to him, he had no pulse for about 15 minutes," he told Channel NewsAsia. "After the paramedics came and gave him some CPR, he had a very faint pulse."
